The numbers below are a baseline.

Nothing drops at exactly these values. Each item is rolled when it spawns, and three separate things decide what it is actually worth.

A quality prefix

Where the roll lands between the item's floor and ceiling gives it a name — from Scrap at the bottom to Relic of Doom at the top. Eight bands, and the name tells you which one before you read a single stat.

A rarity colour

The colour of the name is the band it came from — green through blue and purple to gold. Rarer bands drop less often and roll higher.

Bonus stats

On top of the base, an item can roll extra stats. Each one has its own chance of appearing at all, so most items get some and none get everything.

What that means

Two Machetes are not the same Machete. Read the prefix and the lore, not just the name — and think twice before selling the one that rolled well.
